Answering the question of how to make a business plan template begins by the realization that the first step is the creation of a rough draft, where you end up with a set of notes on each and every topic of the template. The next step is to work on these points and edit them to create a professional narrative that has a smooth flow.

The purpose of creating the template is not to speed up the process of deriving the final business report but thinking about your business in an intelligent, smart and planning fashion. While going through the various facts and ideas, you gradually get involved in looking at ideas and business models in a more critical way. Though this process may initially appear to be a waste of time, the process of creating the template also has the power to prevent a poor decision that could prove to be a disaster in the long run, if not properly addressed upfront.

Running into challenges in any of these areas is no reason to quit. Consider a business that you're passionate about. If you're passionate, you'll have the energy to address the shortcomings in your plan. If you lose that passion in the planning stages, the process will have been successful. It will have given you the warnings you need.

Creating a template involves a significant amount of research, re-thinking and planning. Detailed notes regarding the sources of information and the underlying assumptions that support the financial data and information must be kept carefully for quick and easy reference as and when needed.

Return on Investment While evaluating return on investment is something you'll do on an almost daily basis as you develop and manage your business it's also a fundamental in your business planning process. In fact, everything you do in your planning process needs to be informed by this consideration. If you do not receive an adequate return on your investment - be it financial or time, you should not launch your business.

Conclusion Applying your business plan is one of the hardest things to do. Once the doors are open on your business, the business takes over. You're working in your business instead of on it. Congratulations - you've created a job. A living business plan will deliver you from that. Make your business plan valuable by keeping it alive. Revisit it on a quarterly basis. Use it in your sales planning. And most importantly, have it provide the touchstone for your annual meetings. This is how to make your business on purpose and proactive. Working on your business is more important than working in your business. It takes discipline, time and commitment. For discussions and resources related to development and management of your business visit The Small Business Resource Library. Writing A Small Business Plan

By Adam Murphy

Having a good small business plan will ensure that your journey to success is much smoother. All successful business owners know that having an organized, well thought plan is essential to see the results they expect. Even if the business plan doesn't give the results that you would have thought in the beginning, you can tweak and change different areas of your process to perfect it.

Writing a small business plan will not only allow you to focus on your business start up, but it will also be a valuable asset to present to your business bank manager or indeed any potential investors who may wish to inject vital funds into your new small business.

You must have a plan for many different areas of starting a small business. How are you going to fund the start up fees? How do you expect to sell your product/service? How do you expect to pay your employees? How are you going to promote your company effectively? Most importantly and what most business owners don't think about is where do you want your business to be in 5...10...20 years?Creating the right small business plan is all about creating effective systems. A system is something that you can use over and over again in different situations to receive expected results. You at least have some idea of what's going to happen if you have the right systems in place.

The first step to your business plan is knowing exactly how much money it's going to take to start your company. None of this has to be a professionally written up small business plan that costs thousands and thousands of dollars hiring an "expert". Take out a piece of paper and write down your plan. The main thing is that you know exactly how you are going to fulfill your dream of being a successful small business owner.

Small business plan - an overview There are 6 key elements to consider when preparing to write your business plan they are,Your business aim: this section should indicate your businesses generic goals and should also identify what areas you will need to research (such as marketplace, route to market etc) and also pinpoint an accurate timetable for your small business development.Stock: this section should demonstrate your products and/or services that your are planning to specialise in, where you may source your products and any legislation you may need to be aware of and comply to.

Promotional: here you should plan to demonstrate how you intend to get your products and services to the marketplace, how you are to proceed with advertising media, where you plan to retail your products and services and also note any restrictions that may apply to certain products or services.Operational: This is where you should identify the time constraints that may apply (production time, supplier lead time etc), delivery timescale's to your customers, supplier conformance, shipping options and the limits that will apply.

Having a thorough small business plan is going to help you get that start up money though. As long as you can show the lenders how you plan on getting a return on their investment, you will be set. It doesn't matter if you have horrible credit or don't know anybody that will lend you large amounts of money. You can always find a way. Think outside the box.Alright the next step should be the simplest for you. You want to write down your complete sales funnel for how you plan to sell your product or service. Go through every step you expect a customer to go through to reach your bank account. What are you selling exactly? How are you packaging the items? Are you providing multiple services and products? What do you expect to be your number one seller? What's your specialty?

Once you have all these areas done, you have to know how you are going to promote your business and keep the business coming in. This seems to be the biggest problem most business owners have. You know everything there is to know about your products/services, but you know nothing about marketing. That's expected too. Marketing is an expertise in itself. If you've read much of my blog, you know how I preach about smart marketing. Smart marketing is all about spending your hard earned dollar and getting more then you spent in return. In other words, big return on investment (ROI). Every market will be different and different marketing tactics will work in each of them. You have a huge list of options too. Newspapers, Yellow Pages, Radio, Television Ads,Fliers, postcards, promotion coupons,Referral programs,Internet marketing,Email marketing,Holding seminars and special events,Business to business referral programs

Reporting. All of the objectives and tasks spelled out in a business plan will quite likely have glitches arise as part of the implementation of the plan. Part of a successful business plan roll-out includes keeping a regular, updating reporting mechanism in place, so that potential problems can be addressed and emerging opportunities can be exploited. Therefore, follow-up and reporting must be conducted on a regular basis to ensure the success of the plan.

Positive Affirmations Demystified

By Keri Loots

You are currently waking up every morning for that job you dread. Your life is on auto-pilot, going through the motions and living an ordinary, uneventful life.Affirmations can change your entire life in less than 5 minutes a day. Imagine being able to change how you think on a regular basis to be more positive. Well that is how affirmations work, so let's get you started on your own list. How to Create a Positive Affirmation,Positive affirmations are very easy to construct, but it takes a good deal of time to truly identify your wants and desires. An affirmation does little good if you're asking for the wrong thing. Take a few minutes of your day and list everything you want to change about your life. This list could include - your health, job, relationships, or self-esteem.
[Positive Affirmations]

It is important to keep your affirmations positive and in the present tense. If you have a negative affirmation, you will continue to live in your ordinary life. Creating a positive affirmation starts by changing the way you think. Focus on what you do want, rather then what you don't want. This may sound obvious, must it is very difficult to grasp. For example, let's say you have a problem with face acne and you want to get rid of it. You might consider saying, "I don't have any acne." You are thinking along the right lines, but your mind is hearing something completely different.

Make Positive Daily Affirmations Short And Clear. First, because your experience will create the conditions that allow affirmations to manifest, word the affirmations carefully to make them crystal-clear. State your real, innermost desires and articulate your most expansive sense of self. Affirmations based on a narrow self-concept deliver results that fall short, cause suffering, and further diminish the sense of self.

Increase Your Faith. Of course, the more faith you have in them, the more effective your affirmations will be. The desires and dreams that your mind can conceive bear seeds of possibility, and possibilities ultimately become realities.Say Positive Daily Affirmations With Conviction. Some experts recommend saying positive daily affirmations silently. They say that silent affirmations are more effective than spoken statements, because they entail more intensity of concentration and resonate through your entire body instead of in your surroundings. Others recommend saying them out loud, because you can also use your facial expression or hand gestures for more conviction. For whatever it is, positive daily affirmations made in a half hearted manner are not going to be as effective as the ones that you make with deliberate intention.

You can find lists and lists of affirmations on the Internet and in books, but creating your own positive affirmations that directly relate to your situation will create better results and more motivation. It is important to remember to take your time when constructing your list of affirmations. Think deeply about what it is you want and if you truly want those things. Remember, the process of affirmations (creating, saying daily) are much more important than the outcome.

Richard is a Master Practitioner of neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), Hypnosis, and Neurological Re-patterning. He is also the co-founder of New You Life Coaching. Because his interests stem from philosophy, spirituality, psychology, and leadership, Rich's coaching style incorporates a rare and ingenious approach to understanding and empowering you in an insanely effective manner.

How could positive affirmations possibly help your physical health? Think about the last time you had a cold. The doctors probably told you that the best thing for you would be rest. The most common "old wives" tale states that chicken soup will help you feel better also. Even work will let you take a few days off to help recover. Why is it that all of these things work? Because they are all steps to help you feel more comfortable. They will help your mind be more at ease, so it can work on repairing your body. Positive affirmations can help your mind in the same way.

When you use positive affirmations, you reprogram your mind to see things in positive manner. This includes how you see yourself. When you look in the mirror, see a worthy person looking back at you and you find yourself walking with more pride, being more comfortable with who you are. This person in the mirror has a comfortable air about them, and knows that anything he wants to accomplish, he can. If he feels like going to the gym for a while, he can, thus helping to strengthen his body. The person looking back at you is also confident enough to know that she doesn't want to be dependent upon foreign toxins to feel better. She has the willpower to quit smoking or any other addictive habit. In order to see this person in the mirror, all you have to do is use positive affirmations.

Whenever you are trying to tell yourself something, either by thought or by saying it out loud, you are affirming yourself of something. We are constantly affirming ourselves to do something, change something or achieve something. All our affirmations are a manifestation of our inner beliefs and truths. Most of the affirmations we have are acquired at a tender age, hence they are deeply rooted in our subconscious mind as we grow. Most of our responses to every situation are an automatic adaptation from the way we were raised. This is because our subconscious mind uses memories, feelings and everything that has been stored over a period of time since we encountered it.

The affirmations we have are a great impact on the way we perceive things and the world in general since they affect the way we react to everyday events. For us to survive, we have to adapt to the environment. Learn to react quickly towards the events that take place around us and be able to examine everything that is around us. Most of the affirmations we can be dated back to the foundation of our lives during our early ages. It could be beliefs that we learned from our parents and the environment from which we first understood the way things work. Therefore, some of us may have negative affirmations acquired from the environment, their parents or their experiences. However, you can acquire positive affirmations through subliminal messages that are manifested in the subconscious mind without the knowledge of the conscious mind.Positive affirmations are used by the conscious mind to change any negative attitude that we might have grown up with in our subconscious mind. They are usually in the form of positive statements that you have to keep repeating and believing so that they can replace the negative attitude that you are trying to get rid of. Positive affirmations have been reported to work very well in helping people to get over their fears, achieve many goals, change one's focus towards a positive future, accept change, and many other positive outcomes.

Motivation Vs Inspiration: Why We Need Both To Have Success

By Lachlan Haynes

You're likely already aware that action is the key to achieving your goals. However, there is a more rarely considered - and much more important aspect of action, and that is training yourself to sustain this action-oriented mindset in order to direct your energy to sustain long-term action.

Consistency and persistence are qualities most people are not born with. You have to develop these traits, especially if you want to master a skill that gives you a sustained advantage. We are all emotional creatures and that unfortunately means we experience just as many downs as we do ups. In fact we might experience more downs than ups, depending on our circumstances and genetic makeup. But it's truly our mindset that sets us apart from one another.

We all know what it's like to feel a burst of motivation and then take that energy and translate it into work. But the problem that arises is we don't always feel motivated. Motivation ebbs and flows, often decreasing when we don't feel happy, or when we face setbacks. Our physiological state also impacts our motivation, as do our results.

If we're feeling fit and healthy, we're not overly stressed out, we have a good social and family life, and we've gotten enough sleep, our physiological state will generally be pretty good! And when you can see the fruits of your labor, like getting grades in school, then you'll be even more primed to keep up the good work.

Unfortunately, during times when the opposite is true: we can't get a good night's rest, we have negative relationships that drain us, and we're feeling sluggish - well, these are the moments in our lives when this negativity will express itself in our results as well. Sometimes it may feel like, "what's the point?" or, "this is a waste of time". It's very hard to push through when everything around us seems so bleak.

This is the point where you must focus on turning short term action into sustainable long term action. In order to achieve big, you need to think big. This applies in not just your schooling but your future career and the rest of your life. You must envision your future. Where do you want to be and how will you get there? When you know where you want to go, you can start to plan the way to get there. This is an important step that should never be ignored. You must map out the success in your life. Once you have that road map in your hands, you may be wondering, but how do I get there? The answer of course is one step at a time. It may seem minuscule or daunting but it works! Those continued short term actions, or steps, will move you closer and closer to your dreams. Celebrate each step you take in the right direction and before you know it, all of those little steps have turned into big leaps - and you have achieved your goal with long term sustained action.

Inspiration is what you'll need to harness in order to get to the top of that mountain. Inspiration is more powerful, and a more deeply spiritual practice than motivation, because it comes from deep within your heart. When you wield your own inspiration, you are able to see past any temporary setback; because it will be clear to you that there is something bigger than you at work - something that exists outside of our daily trials and tribulations. Inspiration is a prolonged, consistent desire to change, to reach that goal whether it is large or small. Of course, motivation can still be useful to us - but it exists mainly within a singular situation, a constrained time frame or one temporary set of circumstances. It deals mainly with the present, and has little to do with the big picture.

It's the difference between going to school each day because you want to get your high school diploma, versus an unwavering desire to get into the College course of your dreams because you want to learn how to start and run a business that will change the world. These are both ambitions - but they are on very different levels. It's pretty easy to see which desire would last longer. Being inspired carries you through the ups and downs. It gives you the power to stay the course even when it's ridiculously hard.

It's time for you see things for yourself you may never have considered before. Things like getting into College, never needing a job, even becoming a millionaire, or the possibility of creating something that has a massive positive impact on thousands - even millions of people. These things are all possible for you. But they require a motivation and an inspiration to be achieved. They require sustained action at a pace of one step per day. We all have unlimited potential regardless of our circumstances. What you believe is possible for you is all that truly matters. So, the only question that remains is what do you believe is possible?

How To Study Effectively: Motivating Yourself To Study

By Lachlan Haynes

For those who don't wake up and feel motivated by the prospect of a new day, we often wonder how to "get motivated". But motivation is not something you can just click your fingers and create. Sure, often we read something or watch something and then feel super motivated and ready to take on the world! But then a few hours or days pass by and we've pretty much forgotten how or why we ever got so motivated in the first place. The problem is that the reality of life has got hold of us again and so we just slump back into our old routines.

A true state of motivation occurs when you have a strong craving to achieve something, you can imagine exactly what it is you are trying to achieve, and you are prepared to do anything to make it happen. When in this state you will wake up each day ready to take on the world and make your dreams a reality. That is the real essence of being motivated. But how many of us really feel this way when we get up in the morning?

But let's go back a step or two. In order to find a true state of motivation it's important to understand how and why each step along the way is important. You see, if you understand why a certain task is important to complete, there is a much greater chance you will complete it. For example, if my goal is to learn to speak Indonesian (one of the easiest languages to learn by the way) and I find a CD set that teaches you how to learn Indonesian I am very likely to buy the set and go through the activities. That's simple enough to understand isn't it?

But if the task you have to complete has no benefit to you? How do you feel motivated when what you have to do is completely unrelated to what you are trying to achieve? Well, the reality is that you are likely to revolt against the task or the person asking you to do it. For example, if you want to learn Indonesian you are forced to learn Spanish, you are probably going to be pretty upset! Again, this makes perfect sense. You want to Indonesian, not Spanish. Therefore, there is no motivation to complete the activity.

Do you want to feel motivated? Then whatever you are doing needs to have relevance to you. Without relevance, there will be no motivation and no action. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't complete tasks that appear to have no relevance; you just need to understand what the relevance is and how that applies to you.

To wake up and feel motivated each day then the tasks you complete each day should be taking you towards your ultimate goals. The outcome is what's important - the task itself is really irrelevant. Isn't it? Getting good grades at school is really about getting into a good college or university or getting a great job that you love and are paid well to do. It's not really about getting good grades. Going to work each day is really about paying your bills or paying off your house or funding trips around the world (or anything else you desire). So stop focusing on the task and instead focus on the outcome.

Now is the time to think about your final destination. What do you really want to achieve in your life? If you had to imagine your perfect life, what would it be like? Do you imagine a big house, a big bank balance or a big family? Would you like to travel the world? Would you like to create art all day? Would you like to live in the forest? In doesn't matter what you want because there will still be steps required to get there. So what is your ultimate ambition?

Do what you have to do to get good grades. Do what you have to do to get into a great College or University. Do what you have to do to find a great job you love, or start a business to solve a problem in the world. But whatever you do, don't focus on the task. Focus on the end result. Define your magnificent life goal (something that truly inspires you) and then do what you have to do to make it a reality. If you want something bad enough, you will do whatever it takes. If you're not willing to do whatever it takes, the reality is that you don't truly care if you achieve it and you need to keep looking.

Why Can't You Motivate Yourself To Study? Five Tips From Top Students To Turn It All Around

By Lachlan Haynes

If you want to get good grades you need to learn how to motivate yourself to study. Why? Well, study isn't always the most interesting thing going on in your life and as such it can sometimes be very hard to find the motivation needed to study.

But instead of boring you with reasons why motivation to study is something that can easily be achieved, we've asked students just like you to give us some tips on what helps them find the motivation to study. So without further ado, here are five tips sure to help you find the willpower to start studying!

Tip One. Become very aware of your thoughts. We have thousands of conscious thoughts every day. Thoughts such as "What's for breakfast?" or "I will never get this study or assignment done on time!" Thoughts such as these must be carefully monitored and controlled. Why? Well, if you think you can, you can. If you think you can't, you can't. It really is that simple. Start changing the way you think by replacing negative thoughts with positive ones. Use thoughts like "I can do this" or "I'm always making progress" or "I always get work done on time!" The more you say these things to yourself the more they will become ingrained in your psyche.

Tip Two. Visualize your awesomeness. It might seem corny but visualization is a great tool for getting motivated. Think about how good it feels when you hand in your homework or assignment on time. Or how great you feel when you get a top grade on your next test. Think first, act second.

Tip Three. Take baby steps. If you look at an assignment or a task in its entirety it often looks massive! That's why you need to chop things up and take small actions - consistently. If you think "I have to work hard for five hours to get this done" you will not be motivated to get started. But if you think "I will do 30 minutes of work now and then have a break for 30 minutes" then you are making progress. Do that a few times and you're done! Keep in mind that you have to take action to achieve a result. Even lottery winners actually buy a ticket you know!

Tip Four. Set up a personal stick and carrot routine. Warning! This one will work better for some than others. Establish a goal for what you are going to get done each day. For example, you might say "I am going to get my Maths homework done and write the first two paragraphs on my History paper." Now, if you complete the goal you get to have the reward. The reward could be eating pizza or ice-cream, or watching television, or buying yourself a new song for your iPod, or going out to see a movie with friends (or a combination of many things). But make sure your rewards are important and desirable to you. If you didn't do as you promised yourself, then you get nothing. Nothing at all. You can't watch television, stuff your face with sweets or spend time with your friends. But if you do complete your goals you can do whatever you please! Granted, this routine does require a serious level of self-discipline, but if you master it you will find that motivation comes very easily to you.

Tip Five. Always remember that you're much closer to the end than the start. One of the greatest challenges is to remember that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. It is easy to get bogged down in mountains of work and think "I can't do this!" But the reality is that you have come this far and you are certainly capable of going all the way to the end. You must realize that life is not about study and that your study days will certainly end. Each time you complete a task you are closer to the end than before. Every time the bell rings and a day is done you are closer than before. You are always getting closer. Every minute brings you closer. Believe you will get there - because you will.

When you don't know how to motivate yourself to study it's time to take some action. Do something. Do anything. But don't just sit there wasting time! Use the five tips students have shared with us to make it happen for you. Good luck!
